"So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." Romans 10:17
I have a 45 minute drive to church. I can do a lot of thinking in 45 minutes! While driving to church recently, I was thinking through my lesson plan; thinking through the actions for the worship songs; thinking about what I need to tell my helpers. I was hoping that the class would cooperate. I even thought about how I want all of these students to love God and serve Him their whole lives. Then I asked myself, "Why are you only thinking these things? You should be speaking forth what you want."
Why do we confess? Because when you hear yourself quoting, speaking and saying the things God said, faith comes more quickly. You will more readily receive God's Word into your spirit by hearing yourself say it than if you hear someone else say it. Vic Porter says that when you speak the Word, you retain 90% of what you hear yourself say as opposed to only retaining 10% of what you hear someone else say. Hearing with the inner ear is powerful!
God's Word is not void of power, therefore we should not be void of speech! Here are 3 things to speak over your class today!
Great is the peace of these children for they are taught of the Lord. (Isaiah 54:13)
2. Direction / Guidance
These children are filled with the knowledge of the Lord's will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. (Colossians 1:9)
These children are doers of the Word and not hearers only. They will not be deceived. (James 1:22)
