Do you ever feel like you give... and give... and give some more? Maybe you give your energy at your job day after day to provide a good life for your family. Maybe you give your effort in seemingly repetitive tasks like laundry, cooking or yard work (amiright?)! Perhaps you give a smile of encouragement without the sincerity of feeling happy for the other person. Maybe your students aren't appearing grateful for the time you pour into them.
Giving may be wearing on you, but it doesn't have to! Stop. Relax. Read. Sometimes, all it takes is a few minutes to fill yourself up and you're ready to give again. Let God's word refresh your spirit and renew your mind! And never forget; God is a giver. He keeps giving and giving and giving!
For even the Son of Man came not to have service rendered to Him,
but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand! Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely (without pay) you have received, freely (without charge) give. Matthew 10:7-9 Amplified
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is (progressively) decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being (progressively) renewed day after day.
2 Corinthians 4:16 Amplified
Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
